The Annual Dinner Meeting

was held on Monday, August 17, 2015

Thanks to the District 7500 Clubs who attended, the dinner was sold out with 180 in attendence.  One of the dinner highlights was the parade of Chapters who presented donations to the Foundation.  Their generous contributions to the Foundation resulted in the Foundation receiving over $30,000 that night.

Our Special Guest Speaker for the dinner was:

Dr. Andrew J. Lodge

Duke University Medical Center

Dr. Lodge was the lead Pediatric Heart Surgeon on our September Mission to the Phillippines.  He presented a fascinating report on this, his third mission and the results that were achieved.  Overcoming obstacles not normally present in U.S. Medical Centers the team successfully performed critical surgery on 10 children and interventional surgery on 47 others.

District 7500 Goft of Life Foundation is currently planning our fourth mission to the Philippines and the financial support of the Rotary Clubs of District 7500 is greatly appreciated.

We hope to see an even larger attendance at the 2016 Annual Dinner.  Watch for announcements for the date, time and location.

Welcome to the Rotary District 7500 Gift of Life Foundation web site.

For those who may not be familiar with the Gift of Life program, we are a registered 501c(3) charitable organization and our mission is:

To provide free medical services

to children in developing countries
suffering from congenital heart defects,
regardless of age, race, gender, creed or national origin, who,

without our help would certainly die.

As Rotarians, we have extended our strong belief in the Rotary International creed of "Service Above Self" to reach out to children in third world nations.  We have accepted the challange and are actively pursuing R.I President K.R. Ravindran's 2015-2016 call to:

"Be a Gift to the World"

We support programs that enable Medical Teams of doctors, nurses and technicians to provide advanced training in pediatric cardio-pulmonary surgery to establish a permanent presence in countries throughout the world to provide life-saving services to an ever-increasing number of children with cardiac problems.

Our primary purpose is to provide the funds necessary to support these efforts through the generous support of Rotarians in Rotary District 7500, consisting of the counties of Burlington, Monmouth and Ocean in the State of New Jersey.  Through their financial support, and the support of many, many non-Rotarian friends and businesses, we have been able to help save hundreds of children's lives in countries around the world.

We invite you to take a look around our site and find out more about the work of the Rotary District 7500 - Gift of Life Foundation.

Yours in Rotary Service,

  Arlene Schwartz
